It's dangerous looking at what someone else is getting or at least what they tell you they are getting which may not be the same thing! If you priced this because you had the other crew in the back of your mind then you should think again but if you priced it because you feel that is a fair rate for the type of work involved then I'd stick to your guns, maybe offer a token amount off as a gesture of good will. But you have to be prepared to walk away and lose further work from them, if you can fill it else where with £60sqm jobs the great but if you can't then you need to look at your pricing. If you do decide to drop your price then make them fully aware it was not easy to do as you don't want them to chip you on price every time you do something for them.

It is not like I am inundated with £60.00 per m2 work. I just want a good days pay for a good days graft.
I have been turning down other work to do this work. The other work is at about £25.00 per m2 but the time it takes to fix one m2 of the high end work I could have fixed three m2 of standard tiling so I do not think my price is out of order. I am not prepared to earn £40.00 just to say I am working on such and such a job when I can earn £75.00 just on a domestic job. So I have turned it down.

Last thing you want to do is be on a job where you don't think you're getting a fair price, as it's hard to put the same effort into it.

Suppose the only way is to work out how long you think it'll take and divide it to see if you'd be happy with that as a weekly rate.

Although personally if there's a lot of meterage/time out of the same job and I know there's a few weeks work in it then I'm usually happy to take a bit of a hit on the price compared to a job that'll be finished in 3 days providing it's still worth my while. Particularly if it's for someone who will give me regular work in the future.

For reference, you'd be very very lucky to get £30pm2 for that sort of work over here so 6k doesn't sound too bad.

Deano you can command the top rates i would say you will need to mechanically fix the stone on the internal wall linings so i would charge £75 pounds a metre on that then the flooring i would charge £40 ,the mosaic feature work would be £60 so my price would be £8725,I get fed up with customers asking me to do the complicated bespoke stuff while they get a discount tiler to to the easy straight stuff ,if they want your skills they have to pay for them ,I would love to do loads of easy work and make bundles on price but rarely seem to get it these days ,case in point at the moment I am doing a geometric path while some romanian builders are tiling the easy kitchen floor ,the customer tried to bollock me this morning for arriving 1/2 an hour after her team ,when I pointed out I was 3 times faster than her tiler and would gladly swap jobs with him she said but you are on more money than he is ,not 3 times more was my reply so you are getting a bargain, some people cant see the value sometimes
