Cant get grout off porcelain matt tiles

Yeah!

Can't believe they charge that! Waiting for feedback from the poor chap to see how he got on today. Might go find the thread.

I've come in a bit late on this one. What are the tiles called and where did you buy them? They look like Padova from Topps tiles but they are ceramic.
As you have found out, a strong acid has sorted out your problem. It's difficult treating tiled walls because the acid keeps running to the floor!
Make sure you wash the acid off with plenty of water too.

..my tiler has grouted my bathroom and hasn't cleaned the grout off properly....the tiles are a Matt porcelain and the grout seems to have sunk in leaving white patches all over the tiles where they haven't been cleaned right,,,, the white residue all over the tiles seems to be coming off but there's patches of grout that has sunk in,,,,we have purchased a cleaning solution and been scrubbing with scourers and it looks like it's gone when wet but as soon as it dries it's there again, please can you give me some ideas how to fix this other than stripping it all back off thanks ..Nichola
Hi Nichola, it sounds like the patches are from the adhesive behind, if the tiles are a light colour and your tiler used grey adhesive and used a dot n dab method, the dots of adhesive can transit through the tile leaving a stain, how long have they been fitted? Regards jay.
