Screwfix do something similar - its still 2.75% of charge, but you buy the reader for a one-off £60 and theres NO monthly fee. Its on my Christmas list, and I love the fact that if you don't use it then it doesn't cost you anything.

I guess it depends what type of work you do , more suited to private work I would say.

Direct bank transfer is just as good. Faster payments means it's in before you get home. I do this a fair bit.

I quite agree with you Paul; I put my bank details on my Invoices as I prefer this way.
The main thing about the Card readers is that its for customers who DONT have the money:lol:

I still have a psychological block over these payment methods... I have no logical reason why but they make me uncomfortable...perhaps it's just the idea of paying for stuff that upsets me...

I've been taking card payments for over a year now. It's fantastic. So many benefits to being able to take cards. I mainly use Worldpay (before it went to Zinc. Better charges) but also have iZettle. Same device but works slightly different. Only use iZettle if Worldpay fails for any reason.

I have been thinking about it too... I suppose they are all quite similar, with 2.75% charges.. I was looking at the paypal one, as there are so many paypal/ebay users out there.
