O

ole spleen

I've got a job to start first week of December laying natural stone over electric heated matting. Problem being that half the floor has Carndine strip fooring down that is not very secure and badly laid, other half no worries as nice flat screed. I want to remove the vinyl but it leaves a sticky residue behind thats not easy to scrape off and even then leaves a fine film on the floor, anyone come accross this before?
In all the years I've been doing this its the first time its been a problem, any suggestions gratefully received!!!
Cheers

Ok spleen mate..remove as much loose glue as poss, prime with Bal prime apd,and screed with latex compound...once again prime before tiling....Gaz

hi spleen...Remove the Kardean then just put a slurry coat of balbond and adhesive over it, this will create a good bond between the tiles and substrate.......apply with a brush...........

Cheers for that guys. It just worried me the fact that it leaves an almost oily film ontop of the original floor. With the heated floor I wanted to use leveller over this to hold it in place and give a better surface to tile on then got paranoid about adhesion problems!
Spleen (Scraper now replaced with coffee and a ***)
