i use this product a lot over here in the usa.its unbelievable providing you have adequate sub floor.
the weight is a plus too meaning you can haul a full roll (323 sq ft)no problem.
im not sure what your using over there in the uk as an underlayment for tile but this stuff is great.
when im off to work and i know im tiling over ditra im keen to get in and graft.

Have used it many times - good, but don't like tilining onto it.
Painfull filling up all the holes. Also nasty if sub floor is not good - seems to accentuate any high points.

got a question it seems most tilers seem to go on top of ditra with spf,
is it just a case they dont want to pay the added adhesive cost of a 2 part.
or do most tilers just think ditra and 2 part addy is overkill(eg over floorboards).

haven't spoke to the tech people (bal or schluter) yet.

whe installing ditra over ply or wood you stick it down with flexi adhesive..then tile on top of ditra with a modified adhesive....as specified by schluter.uk

noticed on the schluter uk site it recommends boarding over floorboards before laying, so whats the forums views on tiling on floorboards.

schluter.uk recommend boarding before putting ditra down.. you can though tile on to floor boards themselves with the right prep and adhesive & grout...
