You know; if I didn't like an adhesive I wouldn't use it and if it meant losing the job then I would. But I guess I don't tile now and when I did you could be a bit fussy over things like that.

Tell them you didn't like it and in future you'd prefer to get them the adhesive - even if it means factoring in a small loss on the adhesive (and telling him it's the same price as what he paid and bill him that) but increasing your labour price very slightly to cover it. Perhaps that's a fair way to get around using the adhesive you do want to use?
