Chainsaw carving.

Im a member on a forestry forum, and a few guys on there do a bit of chainsaw carving in their spare time, here are a few photo's of their work.

thanks for the pics ENDURO i will show my lad when he is out of the shower, he has spent some of his wages up here in scotland on a chain saw from the stile shop in inverness , i made him have all the protective safety kit,LOL it cost about another £150 , he loves it!!

I love chainsaw carving, well, never done it myself, but on the country fairs roudn here there is always a chainsawcarver, exhibiting more of his detialed work and making things like mushrooms for the garden in a few seconds, literally, to sell there and then, beautiful to watch. Those picturews are really something... love them, thanks for sharing! Quite a shamanic bench there...

Don't know if you have watched any of Paddy (McGuiness) and Rorys (McGrath) Great British adventure, but they had one episode where they joined in a woodcarving competition. The competitors had 30 mins to turn a log into art using just a chainsaw and a blow torch, some of the pieces were amazing and if they hadn't had a camera filming it all I wouldn't have beleived it! Truly amazing artists.

My cousin in Canada just had this tree spirit carved on his property where he runs his business. Took the guy 2 hours with his axe and chainsaw.

Makes me wonder why I faff about with mosaics that take ages!!! :lol: probably because I'd be scared using the chainsaw...
