Yeah I guess well done too, but £650 is a large amount of money to throw away for one days work, unless we all need to pack in tiling and do tree removal  cos I couldn't hope to earn anything like £650 a day tiling.
No £650 was to remove the tree and the stump, the guy already had the tree removed he wanted me to remove the stump...You can do it fekin if you want to but the stump grinding machine will cost you £12,000 to buy

I have a call out charge of £70 which covers one stump up to 12 inch in diameter, after that its £4.00 per inch measured across the stump. This stump was £150. Best ever day i had was £2,000 that was four very large stumps in a court yard. I do a lot for other tree surgeons and i has taken several years to build up this side of the business, i normally do two or three days a month and there is quite a lot of running cost tungsten teeth for the grinding head etc. I have a rayco RG1635 if you go onto www.raycomfg.com you can see the machines.

Jeessus, I was expecting some big sander or summit, not a tractor

Like a lot of things, tree surgery just sounds like lopping off a few branches, but obviously theres a load more too it than that.

Thankfully, I have no trees

Just watched a video on that website, showing one of them stump killers slowly grinding the stump down, going backwards and forwards over and over again slowly waring down the stump.... couldn't help thinking it would be quicker if the stump was sawn off at the lowest pioint then the lowest section got grinded :huh2:
