I'm tiling a bathroom floor that is Chipboard, I have pulled up the old floor and it looks like it has previously been primed (no idea what with!) Is my best course of action to;

1. re-prime the floorand then tile ontop using BAL Flexi Addy

2. Lay a new waterproof floor, prime and tile

Or

3. Do what someone much smarter than me on the forum tells me to do!

The customer isn't too concerned if I need to lay a new floor as its only 7 square metres, so price isn't a massive issue (just want to get it right).

Any advice always wekcome,

Personally i would ensure chipboard is secure and board over with something like 6mm backerboard. Wouldn`t like to go straight onto chipboard in a bathroom.

Yep, hardi backerboards for me too, then prime and tile away.

For a 7sqm room I'd lay the backerboards in a bed of adhesive, let it dry then screw down every 300mm to get a solid fix, then prime and tile.
