Quick question folks , i have already installed a shower tray using classi - seal only for it to leak a couple of months later :mad2:
Should i reinstall tray with classi-seal taking more care this time to flatten out any small creases in the classi-seal as i feel this is what must have caused it to leak in thew first place , or should i not bother with the classi seal

Thanks in advance Gixer

Thanks for the tip hillhead with the Silicon , when you look at the black tar like strip of the classi seal it isnt completly smooth , its as if the machine that produced it layed it on thicker in places . When you look at the backing paper it appears rippled , i presume when i first applied it i didnt press this home enough to eradicate the uneveness or press out any small air bubbles in it therefore giving water somewhere to get through .
I did have a bead of Silicon along the bottom where the tile meets the shower tray

Thanks Gixer

Personally i'm not a great fan of classi seal or similar products, i find best way to install tray is to Silicon to edges to the walls when 1st installed, then tank/tile etc. then final bead of Silicon. you can tank walls 1st then Silicon tray in then tile and then finish bead of Silicon...

good luck but I would ditch the classi seal if it is rippled..

Many thanks folks for the informative replies , unfortunately i have refitted the classi seal , taking more care this time to get a better seal to the shower tray with the classi seal , and applied silcone front and back . Fingers crossed this time no leaks . When reinstalling shower posts to wall am i right in thinking i should apply Silicon at least to the bottom of these to help eradicate any further problems with leaking ??

thanks again Gixer
