Hi

Would like to know what equipment I would need to offer tile and grout cleaning. What method is best. Also would like more info on natural stone restoration - any help appreciated.

Best Wishes

Depends what you mean by stone restoration, if its polishing and grinding this is very specialized thing to do, and expensive, the machine and diamond grinding discs cost thousands, and Joe public would not pay for it. If you want to get into it properly you would really need a truck mount machine ranging from £7,000 up £20,000 plus and thats just a small bit of machinery you need. I have really looked into this and the start up cost have put me off, plus the training. No doubt Kev (tilinglogistics) will explain more because he does this full time.

Howard,

Thats really a "How Long is a Piece of String question" I am afraid. A lot depends on what you want to clean and how far you want to go. TRile and grout cleaning can be fairly straight forward or can become complicated depending on the type of tile, the substrate, the current condition of the grout etc, etc.

Natural stone restoration is also the same scenario depending on the stone and the restoration required. I am sorry to be so vague but if i wrote a book as an answer it would still probably not give yoiu the info you want. If you can be more specific i will try and help you further. You can either post again, e mail me, PM me or ring whichever you prefer and i will try to guide you further:thumbsup:

Hi I know it was a bit of an open question - thanks to everyone for their help - I really appreciate it. I was looking at buying a portable tile and grout cleaner / carpet extractor to start. Then grinding and polishing once I had a bit of money to take it further. Will PM you tiling Logistics! Thanks for the members who put me in the right direction AGAIN!:hurray:

Looks good

Danny,

I have the similar system only it is more powerful than that one. It is not as good as applying a cleaner and then using a rotary scrubber I am afraid. Furthermore, the pressure washer immediately flushes all the badly fixed grout out so 9/10 using this method on a bad intallation you would have to regrout anyway. What it does do is make the job quicker:thumbsup:
