cleaning your tools

where do you guys clean your trowels, cutters etc after a job? do you do it at the customers place? if so how? or do you wait until you get home and wash them.

whats the best way to clean your tools?

cleaning my grout float was a pain in the backside but I did leave it to dry overnight. I was thinking that in future I'll just buy a new grout float and add it the the price of the job so I have a clean one everytime, could do the same with mixing buckets!! does anyone do this?

thanks

lol well that 1 way but i usually have a big 10ltr bottle of water in van and wash em out outside last thing customer wants to c if u doing it in their nice kitchen PS. only do it if customer not looking lol

i clean out as i work,(bucket of clean water cleaning off as you work) i made the mistake leaving it overnight!NEVER AGAIN!

I just have bucket with clean water for cleaning tools there and then, never let grout or adhesive dry on tools. Trying to scrape dried material off a grouter your've got no chance.

I clean as i go along. Always have a bucket of water (warm if poss) with me. And all buckets etc get cleaned each night before i leave for home.

Best thing to use is a pasting brush and water, stops your sponges ripping in trwel notches and the bristles get into them. Thats what I do.

always clean my tools as i go along, in a bucket of warm soapy water. either outside, or the utility room if a customer has one (unforunately not many do). bad practise to buy new every time, and costly - you might as well make money from a job.

clean as you go,i tend to wash my tools outside then get rid of dirty water in hedges etc.
