yeah, i'd go with that. never did like the change of time twice a year. i think it was only for the farmers anyway, and i can't see why they'd need it in this day and age.

I can see a point about getting even lighter nights. For me that would be useful as it would mean that I have more time after work. Being darker in the mornings wouldnt affect me too much either but they have talked about this sort of thing every year that I can remember....not really sure about it but not that bothered anyway. I have managed all these years !

I didn't know a trial was carried out years back..

Between 1968 and 1971, a British Standard Time was tested, which saw the clocks not put back during winter and stay one hour ahead of GMT all year round.
Statistics showed that 2,500 fewer people were seriously injured or killed on the roads during this time.

I would like lighter nights in the winter months.. as cutting outside past 3:30pm is impossible if no lights..

I quite like the winter nights and coming home from work in the dark, so would be quite happy for it to stay the way it is.

I don't mind the way it is. And I've heard this a couple of years ago and nowt happened then. I can't see how you can guarantee the deaths reported are particularly related to it being dark either. But hey-ho perhaps somebody can speak to the dead and find out the real reasons to why the extra deaths happened.

It would be strange trying to get used to it if it did happen though. I wonder how much of an effect it would have on the economy in general.

Setting up in London and it still being dark at 9.04am sounds a bit duff, even worse for you northern lot!

Is there a country in the world that doesn't change the clocks? I don't like the clock change, ever, but it's just one of those things and it seems to happen everywhere I know of, even in Egypt, it's one of those 'who started this daft idea?' things.... lighter nights and darker mornings is GREAT for those of us whose cat wakes them up just before sunrise... I'm all for that! 🙂

there was a programe on telly about this about a month ago , there is a lot of people furious about this they interviewed a young mother in the very north of scotland , who said in winter they would:nt see daylight until about 10 am and she has to walk her kids half a mile down a dirt track to catch the bus

i wish the coalition could put the clocks 4 years forward !!! get rid of the one trick ponies ...cut cut cut cut cut lol

* REMOVED* that it's bad enough when the clocks go back 1hr wen I'm on a night shift, meaning u do a 13hr shift. If they go back 2hrs I'd have to do a 14hr shift. Load of * REMOVED*

Come to think of it, there are loads of different timezones in the US, would it be so problematic if Scotland had a different timezone if this did go ahead?

I thought the whole object of turning the clocks back was for the school kids, there'll still walking to school in the dark???

lets put the clocks back 4 years , we would all be busy again :hurray::hurray:

Where is Superman when you need him? Let's put it back 10 -20 -30 -40..... years? Let's take our pick... oh, but hang on, can I have my internet access throughout please?

this is bringing us into line with the eu and is called Berlin time

the 2 hr change is for year one and then after that we adjust I hour, its going to have a serious effect on building work as a 7am start will be 5 am start and for the first few hrs of the day we will be in darkness, Im dreading it as noon will be 2 in the afternoon and my body clock wont like that

this bill has been going through parliament for a while and is on its last reading

don't really see the point in this. why bother changing?? Its fine as it is, dark winters, light summers and 2 days twisting a year when you have to change all of your clocks!
