One of the most liberating things to do is install a bathroom that will never work!

The toilet wont flush.

The sink wont fill with water.

You cant take a shower.

If you sit in the bath then it will be dry!

Have just come off a contracting job building the sets for one of this years larger shows. And as this is a showhome then its all about looks and not function. So when we were working with the team to blast holes into the tiles with the diamond drills then the freedom to just plonk things on the wall where we thought they would look nice was actually quite liberating.

One of the funniest moments was explaining to some of the guys NOT to use a spirit level.... (Huh?) Yes everything went up by eye and tape measure. A spirit level is about as much use as a chocolate tea pot. Reason?: Everything is being built on the back of a lorry... As the various trades move about the load moves... So its all done by eye and by tape measure.

Dont bother with a spirit level.. Your bubble wont work on these walls..

Errr just get this lot up on the wall.... Anywhere really!

Watch my tile cutter when you back up....

Commercial work can be good fun !

Considering the work it had to do its going well. Those tiles at 900 x 900 and 20mm thick are chewing up diamond blades.

And the sheer NUMBER of holes they needed diamond core drills for was well above average.

The tiles at 900mm x 900mm and 20mm deep were a bit of a handful...
The reason they needed so many holes is that Hansgrohe must have sent in ALL of their range as freebies.

This bathroom had everything you can name as an accessory. All varieties of Toothbrush holders, Soap dishes galore, towel rails, towel rail raditators, pegs, robe hooks
So they ask for as many as possible to go up!

That towel rail you see in the bath had TWELVE holes just for the fixings. Three per foot. Good job it didnt need any real water feed pipes !

This towel rail required TWELVE 8mm holes for its four feet. Three per foot.
With the water feed it would have been 14 holes for one thing....!!!
