Does anyone out there do complete bathroom refits themselves, or do it using plumber and sparky? Or do you think its alot of hassle for the money and would just sooner stick to tiling. Ive been asked if i could do them for customers a few times but have always given them my pals number who does refits.Im sure theres good money to be made, just wondering if anyone else does well out of it?

i do it all myself unless elec's get to detailed, plumber (not all) just sling baths in and expect the tiler to sort them out. the good money for me here is in the total refits.

What you have to bear in mind if doing full re-fits.... if you go to someones house to tile the bathroom....you're a Tiler.... if you go to plumb the gear in... you're a plumber..... You want to avoid getting the tag of 'Jack of all Trades'.
This doesn't mean to say don't do them, they can be very lucrative... just make sure you sell your services as a 'Professional Bathroom Fitter'

Ive got a couple of pals who happen to be a part p registered sparky and a plumber. We've agreed a price for their labour and we've got a local bathroom supplier on board. Only 20% discount but hey that'll do for starters. Will let you know how we get on with advertising and hopefully some graft! cheers.

Best of luck tops.I fit complete bathrooms all the time and average about a a week to do all work but some take up to 2 weeks.I do tiling and plumbing so setting out no problem, spark works with me and a good plasterer, and a painter and decorator.I offer the finished product at end so people do nothing and get what they want.Tiling usually offers no major problems but plumbing needs a thorough knowledge of systems and materials to protect from mishaps.Make sure your liability insurance covers all that you do and take your time even if slow.I know too many cheaper guys that are fast and finish is crap.Take time and although the customer may moan about pace - they will forget that when happy with finish.Best of luck and welcome to dolphins worst nightmare - a fitter who cares:hurray: .

totally disagree con5933

there is a whole market for bathroom installation service as there is for kitchen installations..tiling is half of the finished product in a bathroom so why not capatalize. who care if someone calls you a jack of all trades, they obviously are too busy concerning themselves with someone whos out there being ambitious (usually jealous people call you a jack of all) those days are in the past..

if you can plumb in a suite as good as a plumber and you have your part p in electrics, then why not get the extra work and provide a complete service..

i have seen countless vans and adverts which say, tiling specialists and bathroom installations...the 2 go hand in hand.
