Conrete floor with black rubber/glue after removing pvc tiles.

Hi all,

I'm fitting kitchen and customer asked me to lay tiles on the floor just in the middle (less then 5 m2).
I removed old pvc tiles and now I've got concrete covered with black rubber/glue (not sure what it is exactly).
How should I prepare this concrete before laying new tiles ?

Lift as much as the old glue as possible & slurry coat over the top of it.
SBR & rapid set adhesive for the slurry coat.

Arditex NA is great, they say it can be used straight over bitumen glue, I used it on a kitchen floor with a coverage of about 4mm deep and it's really provided a great finish. Getting that black stuff off can be an a*** It's not cheap mind you.

If I'll find Arditex locally I will use it, if not then slurry coat.

Slurry coat & standard addy, job done.

Save yourself a few quid.

Scrape off as much as possible, slurry coat, then I usually use a flexi adhesive because the OCD in me imagines there may be a little give in whats left of the bitumen.Sad I know. Never had a problem though.

I did slurry coat and flexi addy. I could not find any local supplier of Arditex.

If your going to level it use Ultraplan Eco, great to work with & finds it's own level very easily.
