Its a standard two week course learning the basics and not exactly advanced, not really enough if want to go it alone.
I have done a bit of tiling in my own home and family and friends and I was looking into this to get a qualification so that I can apply for a job with a company etc

you wont get a qualification doing a two week course. You dont need an NVQ for domestic work, but you do for Commercial work to get the CSCS card for tiling.

Thanks for the info, I'm just hoping to get my foot in the door at the moment as I'm looking for a career change.

Tiling was a career change for me after redundancy. I did a 4 week course and went self employed on my own. I also got my white CSCS card at the training centre. A year or so later I was offered the chance to get my NVQ level 2 through the training centre where they come to assess you on the job and you submit photos of your work etc. When I had to renew the white CSCS card I could then get the blue skilled worker CSCS card which is now required for tiling on sites.
It might be worth finding your niche as theres many different aspects to tiling. I ended up doing a couple of specialist courses and now specialise in working with mosaics. Next year I will have been trading for 10 years!
You never know how things will develop. Good luck.

Time's Ran Out

Well I have taken a good look around on the Internet and on this forums.
I'm starting my 9 day course with UK PRO TILING on Monday 13th June.
I'm looking forward to a new chapter in my life and hoping to start my own business with all the advice from Darren.

Enjoy.
