Alan makes a very valid point for all these type of enquiries - if you feel your employer is acting unreasonably - visit your local Citizens Advice Bureau, they can provide support as well as good advice. Except.

Local Authorities are now removing their financial support for these, and many will be forced to close or at the very least provide a restricted service. This is a good issue to tackle your local councillors on... especially when they come up for election next May.
