Council fitted wet room help please

Hi

About 20 years ago the council fitted a wet room which has been fine until now,

I've replaced some tiles on one wall, im now looking at replacing the material they used to bridge the gap between the non slip floor and the tiles and what they used as a bead between the floor and the material used and also the glue used to stick it to tiles.

Why did some tiles need replacing, was there water damage behind them by any chance? Wet rooms aren't done that way any more, the tiles start approach 100mm from the floor and have a plastic trim under the bottom row. Instead of having that black skirting the vinyl is coved up the wall in one piece, tucked into the trim and welded in the corners. You can still get the skirting that you need but would need to get a floor layer in to weld it to the existing floor however sticking it to the front of the tiles isn't something I'd recommend.

By any chance do you have any information from the council about what materials they used when fitting out the wetroom? The only reason I ask is that when I bought an ex-housing association house, it came with a pack detailing what the tiles were in the bathroom and kitchen for example. I'm just wondering if there's any way of contacting the council to find out if they have a record. Maybe I'm clutching at straws here and Sir Ramic is right to point you to our flooring forum also, they guys over there may be able to help too.

There was water damage but it was because of a leak from the room above, there was never a problem with the any other part of the wet room before.

I bought the house from the council and had no information passed to me, i was in the house when the wet room got done but remember nothing about it, i would contact the council as a last resort as i think they will be slow to answer if at all, i have posted on flooring forum also.

You would be better off contacting a local floor layer, as I mentioned above that black skirting is readily available but a specialist tool is needed to weld it to the existing vinyl floor
