Crack on an old concrete floor?

Hello,

Ive got a kitchen floor where ive lifted the marley tiles and rid most of the bitumen, thats when I noticed one crack running across the concrete floor, only a couple of mm wide . The house is over 80 years old. There will be natural slate tiles going down.

Does this crack need any attention or re-inforcing?

Depends on why it is cracked. Tell me can you tell if the bitumen had run into h rack o was the bitumen cracked as well

John that needs further investigation before you can tile being a couple of mm wide .Does it cover the full width of the floor?

ok guys, ive been to the house and basically the crack was wide and ran everywhere.. the concrete floor has de-bonded from the foundations??? Its going to be ripped up by the friend quite easily... It was/is an inch thick. My question now is...

what are my options. I was thinking of getting the floor sand/cement screeded, then tiled? or creating a wooden floor of consisting of screwing joists to the substrate then laying 18wbp and hardie board.?

Im thinking the easy and keeping the costs to a minimum is floor screeding? Can you tile directly on to new concrete floor screed or would it needs slc? How long does floor screed need to cure and dry prior to tiling or slc?
