Cracked Plaster Around multi-fuel stove

If you have the depth you could render using sand and fire cement this is the way it was done on open fire,s ,I have not seen any fire cement on the shelve,s for a few year,s so you might have to order the cement.I have just checked online and Screwfix sell,s the fire cement.

We have a woodburning stove that gets very hot. I am not sure what I need to do behind the stove with regards to plastering. I have plastered it three times with various products but all have cracked. Now Ive found out that I am using the wrong type of plaster.

Can anyone please help? The stove is a Vesta V4 We bought the stove and had it delivered direct to Ireland and are very pleased with it. It does get very hot and our fireplace is quite small so maybe we need to line the fireplace with metal but any advice would be appreciated? We burn coal and wood on the stove it gets just as hit using either fuel.
