Had a call yesterday from a guy asking if i could come and sort there new stone floor out that they have just had laid. They said the tiler has made a complete mess of it and were going to take him to court over it. :yikes: He said it had been very poorly laid and had really bad lippage. I have just got back from looking at the job and the tiler had made a first class job of laying the stone. Yes there were a few tiles with lippage maximum of 1mm and i explained this was due to the sandstone tile and not due to tile fixing the properly. The had some left over so i put a level on the few of the tile and the could see some had dips and some were slightly bowed. I am going back to smooth some of the edges with the fein for them, but if it was my floor i would be well happy how the tiler had laid it. They both said they would eat humble pie and phone the tiler and pay him and explain what i had told them...They were quite nice people just did not understand until i explained everything. So a happy customer, a happy tiler as he will be getting his £2,000 cheque and a bit of work for me :hurray:
