I would have been more than happy to do this for my parents when they were for ever hiring builders. I was never asked to.

I once watched my father knocking a small dent out the front wing of his car, the phone rang which he went to answer, I thought i'd carry on and have the job done for him by the time he got back, being the helpful son that I am, i picked up the hammer and smashed the S*** out of the wing. Job done, or so I thought! I was only 4 at the time in my defence

He had plenty more dents to knock out - more quality time with his son!:lol::lol:
It was beyond repair after I had finished with it! He had to change the complete wing and then he knocked a few dents in me. He's never let it go, every few years he'll say "Do remember what you did to my Rover?" to which my reply is always the same "no, why don't you remind me" followed by me ducking to save myself a clipped ear. I can set my watch by it!

I started this job today. Took me 4 hours to sand off the emulson, wipe off the dirt and seal with acrylic paste. Off home for a shower & lunch, then back to mark out both rooms.

Heres the problem. One room is fine for ending cuts by a door if the original tiler made errors setting out as the tiles are large.

The second room is a pain. 300 x 180 slips, which I must say are lovely coloured. BUT, the tiler worked off the shower tray and the lines don't meet up on the two unfinished walls which I'm doing, out by 5-7mm. So, do I cut that into the shortest wall, which happens to be the wall you see as you enter the room, or the wall opposite but is longer as the other wall when entering has work surfaces, hope that makes sense!

Or do I 'bend' the tiles to match, BUT I have a window to deal with...........I'm confused now.......doh.............help.

Oh, and the 15 year old son asked why I was using mason nails to prop up the tiles and not a batten....................I hate Japanese students......lol
