Cutting a bath panel

Hello all

Has anyone ever cut a bath panel when tiling?

If so cold some one please point me in the right direction as to what saw is best to use for cutting it?
I have a fein but dont think i will be able to get a nice straight line on the cut with that.....

use a really sharp stanley knife and take your time,score a few times and it will snap off ,easy when you have done a few.

I put several layers of masking tape down the line thats to be cut to give me a good line to follow also saves any scratches on the bath panel if the blade goes a bit wandering

A good sharp fine cut saw...............or a good new hack saw blade.........if required overcut first and then offer up and judge second cut.....as long as you take your time any descrenpacies can be taken up with Silicon............take a saw cut slowly and at a shallow angle and try and support the cut line

clamp a batten as a striaght edge on good side of line, use sharp blade, take time and a few slices, if blade slips its going onto to side your getting rid off.

i use a dremil wit a circular bit if cuts them fine,with care and attention you should use your fein the same way i put them in myself if the customer asks me. The plumber i work with charges up to £60 to fit one better in are pockets than theres especialy in the current climate! :santa_cheesy:

Cheers for the advice people! It seems a good quality one and would feels like it will be quite difficult with a stanley but i suppose i can give it a go!! I will let you's know how i get on as im doing it 2morrow! cheers again....

Good luck Woody, bloody awful things to work with. I use the masking tape trick myself, don't like the stanley knife though, still got ten fingers thank you very much.

A good pair of tin snips may sort it

You could use a jigsaw mate. Just ensure you use the correct plade e.g. plastic/upvc cutting blade. Using a hacksaw can be tricky at times as they can go off line. If it is a reasonably flush panle you could use a table saw with a fine cut blade.
