cutting schluter profile step trim

hi all know this might sound daft but i dont want to make a pigs ear of it as the trim was 20 quids,,is it best just to cut it with a junior hacksaw? many tas las

Hacksaw is fine mate, would opt for the larger one instead of junior. Take it steady it will cut ok

Deffo a standard hacksaw......makes cutting easier....start with light cutting strokes , so it doesn't jump out of cut line and scratch the trim...

If you can I would clamp/hold it in a mitre box. This gets a nice clean square cut.

Use a standard hacksaw and take it slowly. Try on a scrap piece first. Take care not to let the saw jump.

I have been fitting the CTD cheapo shiny silver stuff. I'm very impressed with it.

Hi there...

You can yes unless you have an epic set of teeth....Ha ha ha!!!

Try look for or buy yourself a blade with as many teeth per mm as possible. The more teeth the finer the cut....Otherwise your edges will look a bit hagged.

its the trep -fl im fitting,,round nosed profile,,pricey trims but look excellent

Hi, I normaly use a grinder with a thin metal cutting blade 1.5mm. It eats Stainless Steel ,Alu,Brass,ect, with hardly any burring.Cutting that lot by hand would **** me off!:8:2Balls
