went and met sparky at 4pm, lay out ufh and test it, all fine:thumbsup: had 3 bags of latex slc to cover it before de-coupling and tiling tomorrow. Should've got another 2 bags I think:mad2:, but I thought 3 would've easily covered 9m2. It was over a ufh that I'd never used before (Klima) and the wire was quite thick. This has set me back a day as I intended to have it tiled out tomorrow and grouted on Sunday morning, as it is I'm gonna have to go tomorrow, finish off slc'ing it and have a long day Sunday tiling and grouting it when I'm supposed to be taking kids Trick or Treating:mad2: ....rant over!

Doug,

Use a rapid setting slc and you will be able to start tiling in the afternoon tomorrow. That should help shorten your day on Sunday?

I always calculate slc for UFH at a coverage of 2sqm per unit / bag just to be safe.

Another tip that I picked up from TJ is to cover the wires with a cheap rapid flexible addy prior to levelling so that the slc goes further.

I hope it all works out for you and the kids on Sunday, mate.

it is a rapid set slc that I use Daz, takes foot traffic within 2 hours, but I wouldn't like to tile onto it for 24, I did use rapid set addy to stop wires corking to the top, but these wires must've been about 5mm thick.

Bugger!
I use Arditex NA which will accept foot traffic after 2 hours and "can be tiled after 4 hours". Only done that once though.
