Welcome to tilersforums.com flymo. Thanks for introducing yourself.

Have you plugged it in........:yikes: :welcome:

Hello and welcome.....you say not thermostat...that would be my first thought..?

Is the matt a single core return or dual cores..as in two cables to return to feed.?..

How close where the elements from each other when placing matt down..?..

Hi flymo, I know you said the thermostats ok but are you sure about the underfloor probe? I have more failures a few months down the line due to floor probes than anything else but I take it you've read a voltage across the output to the mat? to eliminate this yes.

I'd be testing the probe first too personally. And there may be a couple of fixes to that issue. 1) change the probe 2) if the stat type can do it, I'd change the setting from 'air and floor' to 'air only' - with some you do this in the settings, with most you do it by taking off the cover and changing the prongs inside the stat to the right settings. Download the stat installation / operation manual to do the latter.

Welcome to the forum. UHeat sell a little gizmo which tests the circuit for you (after you've tested it with a multimeter )

Several times, have open circuit across heating element, have also tried powering heating element directly , two cables one to live and the other to neutral ,cable spacing as set down in the instructions[am aircraft engineer so am used to following instructions exactly]approx 50 mm.Thanks for the ideas so far:smilewinkgrin:
