Is it supposed to spring up to the top position when unlocked? or does the spring just stop it dropping when unlocked?
Mine just stays in whatever position you put it in.
Anyhow from looking at the exploded drawing it looks like you can't retension so you need a new spring which is £7.76 incl vat.

Cool. I sometimes plunge when cutting mahoosive tiles.
But if I get a tile that is prone to chipping I find raising the blade and scoring it before the final rip keeps it pristine.
