Well done Kenny let me know how its done lol :pete

Imagine it's like a stool with three legs, and without any of the legs it would just fall over.

There's 3 main area's.... On-page SEO; stuff you see (paragaraphs of keyword rich text, images with keywords in the ALT tags, anchor text, etc) - On-page SEO stuff you don't see (meta tags, ALT tags, title tags etc) - Off-page SEO (inbound links, quality of 'linker', quantity of links, age of links, anchor text in links, image links etc).

Each keyword or keyphrase would require a different amount of each to compete with those currently ranking first. That's why it changes all the time, but the theories and efforts put in have been the same since day one.

This is a handy tool for guestimating the future live rankings: http://www.void.be/googletool.html

If you want any SEO work done on your site mate give me a shout. I can knock Diamond off that top spot for the right price ;) lol

But seriously.... I manage a few of the sites ranking high for those terms, though they slowly drop a little after 12 months.... I'm just about to do NETT's site and my TilingCoursesCompanies site afterwards. Then UKTilingCourses.co.uk deserves a hand though I havene't touched that since 2006 so it's dropped a fair bit.

If I removed my links to the other guys in the Top 10 you'd find my customers would jump up a bit. But I like to keep all the training centre's up there somewhere as most of them know of me somehow and they're all potential customers. You wouldn't blieve how many are waiting for sponsor spots on here for Tools and Courses. It's a shame I stuck limits on the main sponsorships though.

Well that lasted long. lol.

It seems Google is shaking stuff around a bit again. Either that or they've rolled back for some reason and it will flick back once they've sorted whatever it was out.

This is a bit out there if you don't follow what it's on about but you can search the net for the meanings and learn a lot - http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/google-ranking-factors.htm

Clock the right mixture for your own website and it will rank very well pretty quickly.

But for terms like "tiler in stoke" and what-not, terms that are not so competative, you wont need to get everything right as your competition will be small.
