This one had to be centralised to the room.

I dry laid the centre first to get best cuts. Then I laid outer area and border. Then laid center :thumbsup:

Still cocked up slightly and had small cuts on the corners :yikes::smilewinkgrin:

I would mark out the perimeter first. Then do a quick layout for the pattern to ensure you dont end up with tiny triangles where the center and perimeter join up.
This is also why I keep at least 2 chalk line colors. If you make a mistake, then you use the other colors for your finnal layout.
The key is to spend the extra time for the layout. That way the finnal result is near perfect and the cutomer thinks you are a genious.

I always set the centre design first and fit a border/perimeter to it!
You have to have a full/half tile up against the border and it should be symetrical around all edges.
However if the centre feature is only a panel as per other examples then I would allow the border to be the main feature and cut the tiles at the diamond to fit!

Im really lazy nowadays,
Used to set it out border first on the job but now use a program called Precision Tile Pro , can do full setouts on the lounge hehe,
