Difference Between The Rubi Cutters???

Hi everyone. I currently have a Rubi TS-60 tile cutter but am upgrading to a heavier duty one, but wanted to know the difference between the TS, TN, TX etc. ranges. can anyone shed some light on this for me please. i am thinking of getting a TX700 or 900-n? thanks

The breakers are different and work in different ways.

You cold stay with the TS range but upgrade to a TS-Plus model which gives a heavier breaking capacity

But my advice would be to opt for the TX-700-N, it has a different br4eaking mechanism as Scott says but a far more versatile large format cutter

The TX range are superb cutters imo, I used to have a TS60 and hated it!

Thanks for all the advice. i looked at the Rubi website, but there was no real info outlining the differences between the models. the Tx range seems good so i expect i will go for that (depending what kind of deal i can get of course). many thanks again

It really depends on what you will be using it for. If you need versatility then id avoid the TS-Plus as i have that and its worse than useless on hard porcelain. However its great for ceramics.

Without turning it into a battle of the cutters have you looked at the other options? I have the montolit and it is truly awesome and far more versitle than the rubi, however it is more expensive.

I never rated the mark I rubi tx but the mark II is a really excellent cutting machine and is a vast improvement on the mark I tx and I would argue that its as good as any porcelain cutter available ,I have a ts60 plus and dont use it that often as it isnt a porcelain cutting machine imo and most large format tends to be porcelain these days

I think the mark II is lighter too. Thats another thing to bear in mind when buying one the weight! Some of these cutters are pretty heavy to lug around. (However my brain is light as a feather :hurray::lol:)
