My bank charges are so high for cash and cheque transactions that I always try to pay all invoices, and get my customers to pay me via electronic transfers.

I would never send details via email but do include on invoices.

Your client will require the sort code and account number and it will assist if they know the Bank name and account name.

Sure, I email all my invoices. Providing it's a customer you have just as many details of theirs for the police should you think they've stolen your ID. Which is what people worry about I guess. But it's unlikely an ID thief would be conning tilers. They'd assume most would be cash I guess anyway as they have crooked minds themselves?

If you've done work for somebody, trust them with your bank details. They can only pay you money with 'em.

If someone pays you by cheque they are trusting you with their details (it's all on the cheque) including their signature so giving someone an account number relatively safe IMO.
