Good Afternoon Guys.
New to the forum, and would appreciate your expert advice. Two days ago we noted some discolouration to the first row of tiles above the bath. Looks like a irregular shadow type pattern.
The bathroom has been fitted around five years with no problems at all. About one year ago, I did re-seal the top edge of the bath due to some slight mould.
Following reading posts here, I placed a spare tile in a bucket of water. The following morning the tile was marked exactly the same. So I presume there is water getting behind the tiles ?
There are no pipes at all nearby or anything that could leak.
Would that point towards the sealant or a grouting issue ? I would appreciate your thoughts on how best to rectify please guys. Do I need to call in a tile professional and remove / retile bottom row (luckily I do have spare tiles) ? Or could this be sorted without tile removal ?
I understand that posts like these are difficult without pictures. I did try to attach but system would not allow me.
look forward to your opinion....Many Thanks and Kind Regards
Jim.
