Distressed Limestone

Hello

Just been looking at a job and the lady has got the tiles and all materials just wants a price for labour.
The tiles are distressed limestone 485/685xRandom Distressed 25mm thick. Has anybody worked with these before and what cutter will i need, will my plasplugs contractor cut them?

There is 21 m2 of it, What would you charge?

Cheers lads:thumbsup:

I've never worked with that before (but would welcome it!).
25mm thick I think would be a struggle with the Plasplugs but not impossible if you're patient and have a good blade in there.

Being patterned I would reckon 4 days including all the washing and sealing.

Oh, and try and use BAL PTB (pourable thick bed) if you can. It's great for heavy stone - doesn't slump and spread under weight as much as normal addy, also has about 5 hrs in the bucket.

Good advise, but there could be a problem with PTB on colour bleeding through if Limestone. The alternative is the PTB Flexi, this is available in white.

Hi gaz

Thanks for reply....Shes already got all the adhesive, grout and sealers..shes going to let me know what they are later..she bought the tiles from classical flag stones (on the internet) and they supplied her with the suitable adhesive and grout..I might just put a price in and sub it out (if i get it) as my little plasplugs wont cope with them i don't think.

I'd certainly want to have a peep at those tiles first Monty before I committed myself. A pic would be good?

You would also want a pretty stout wet saw to handle the job of cutting.

This is what they have to say :

Hi

Could you please confirm the material this flooring is made of & which adhesive sealers you would recomend.

Regards

Tiler

Hello Tiler,

Our Distressed Limestone is manufactured from concrete and reclaimed aggregates. To install it you need a thick bed flexible adhesive, flexible grout, Lithofin Multi Seal and Lithofin Stain Stop, all of which we can supply. Hope this helps, do get in touch if there is anything else we can do.

There you go you deffo need to park your plastiplags for a still saw m8
