Hi, new here and some way through my new extension. Has come to tiling and UFH. Q: I have. New extension has water UFH, screed top and I plan to install Ditra mat prior to tiling. We have created open plan living by knocking the old kitchen and dining room into one and also open planned with new extension. Old floor however is Weyroc (chipboard flooring) and I want to install electric devi UFH in here. for consistency can I install Ditra on top of electric UFH?

Basically I have 1 large room with two floor constructions. Due to this I have already successfully installed water UFHwith screed flooring.I want UFH also in other area with floor construction that necessitates electric UFH. This in itself is not the issue. AsI am tiling throughout I plan to use ditra to protect the tiles from lateral movement. I am unsure of the thermal properties of the ditra if it gous on top of the electric (devi) mat. Concern is overheating and electrical failure. Does anyone have any experience of this?

Yes.. Ditra can be used over UFH and with no problems.. it in fact is advised to be used this way.

Schlüter-DITRA is also recommended for uncoupling of radiant heated floors consisting of thin electric heating mats. Schlüter-DITRA may be installed either above or below the heating mat. However, the uncoupling function is more effective if Schlüter-DITRA is installed above the heating mat.
