Do I need to tank if using aqua board?

Hi,

I'm installing a shower cubicle using a marmox showerlay.

I have boarded the walls with aquaboard. After placing in the showerlay using adhesive I will use the waterproofing tape and compound to seal around the edges.

Question is do I also need to tank the aquaboard?

Also when tiling begins, should the showerlay be tiles first or the walls?

I would tank it, Aquapanel isn't waterproof, if enough water comes in contact with it it will pass through it, travel down it but will not damage the board, so your still left with water tracking somewhere, that said, if there's that much water getting through you have a bad install. As for walls or floor first, in this case it would be walls first for me.

I'll use the paint on tanking system to add an extra layer of protection.
