Do We Need an Association for Tile Fixers?

I decline to pass any further comment on this issue - you stick to your views and I will stick to mine. I ain't no cowboy - NVQ or not.
I'm not saying you are, or anybody else on this forum. All that I am doing is passing on something that I know is going to happen. A general response for all to read.

'm takin my first move toward an nvq in june when I visit darren & tracy🙂

Stick your NVQ where the sun don't shine.
I have been to site jobs and seen tiling carried out by NVQ quailfied tilers - a lot of it is crap. I have seen it for myself.
Also currently you do not need a CSCS card to get on every site - starting 10 appartements and 2 houses on a site in 2 weeks - all I need is a high vis vest and a hard hat and my tools.

ive gotta cis4 card and i think ive used about 3 or 4 times ! you dont really need any crap u just have to be be seriously good , fast and honest to be succesfull at this game!! and it helps if ur handsome too!!

I'm not just talking about getting us all through an NVQ or gaining a CIS4 card.

I'm saying that at the moment, does the TTA do it for you? Would a newer association be the answer, or would we tell the TTA what they need to do to help us.

Have any of you found benefits with the TTA, and what benefits would you like to see from the TTA if you haven't seen anything so far sort-of-thing.

Yes a tile fixer's association could only be a good idea aimed specificaly, meaning not to include supplier's ,manufacturers, training center's ect ect.

Isn't sticking to a big association and helping them be more geared towards supporting the tile fixer rather than to consider joining one that is only lead by tile fixers?

If it is just a tile fixers association. Then should it only be ran by fixers currently tiling as a profession and not by somebody who once tiled?

has any one ever asked to see you nvq
most people want to see your work not bog roll(whoops i mean nvq)
what ever happened to good old fashion on site training
when i started there as no tiling course i could take and have never had to show my nvq (pvr asp fuc ) or ony other type of paper work
i am trining my 3rd tiler now hes done a course and is learning much more on site than he could hope to get in a classroom
so ill stay away from the federation of master tilers thanks:coffee:
