Do you buy adhesives based on price alone.?

When purchasing your tile adhesives, do you buy on price alone or do you buy on what you know works etc..

With jobs/contracts getting harder to win , are you switching to cheaper brands to compete.?

Some of our contracts stipulate the use of BAL or MAPEI and on some jobs, we do not supply the adhesive and grout.

In everyway possible i stick to what i know and i'm comfortable with and that's BAL. I've always used it, and i trust it.

got one contractor who supplies his own gear the rest just let me deal with it

I have to do a 70 mile round trip for my addy, use Mapei Proflex, because although it is a rapid set, it has a good pot life and it's cheaper than Toppfix thanks to my TF account at tile giant

We tend to stick to Flisekompienets F1 plan as it's good and it's the wholesalers we use the most, which I've recently found out is made by P.C.I but we wouldn't go out of our way for it, if we ran short on a job, whatever wholesaler is closest and whatever they've got as long as it's not pre mixed in a tub!

on most on my projects, contractors suply materials, but they ask me what i want. So mostly i use Mapei keraquick and Keraflex. Some times Ardex, webber. But think Mapei Keraquick is realy good , gives you time to work. Some rapid set adhesives goes off too quick.
