Does having a HNC relieve anything from the NVQ?

I'm looking to get into tiling from scratch, coming from a QS consultancy (and basically having had enough of office work and wanting to get my hands dirty) I have a HNC in Building Technology and Management, and the CSCS 'managers' card

Would my HNC take any time or modules off an NVQ or would I still be required to do the same as someone who came in with no qualifications

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Personally I would forget what you have and begin the nvq and follow the trade.

We have enough white collar tilers now who know everything about tiling but nothing about being a tiler.............

:lol: I can imagine you see that alot, people who have never done a days work on site in their life thinking that they know your job better than you!

Noticed you're in South Wales, you may be able to help me more

Where would you suggest is the best place to start training? Im in Cardiff but I would imagine Barry is one of the main places for courses?

To my knowledge and could be mistaken there is little if anything in south wales as there is in the north.

Take a look through the sponsors and read some of the comments on the courses, you will have to pay but nothing is free..............
