I created a database within ms access, then created a form to log every receipt, all information is selected from dropdown boxes so i dont input any dodgy ones, then I created some sql based queeries that retrieve the desired information from the database when needed, i.e, how much total takings did i take in Nov?, OR who is my best referer? Or how much did i spend on tools between feb and may?? ..sql can tell you anything about your business. I do have a history in IT so thought id use my knowledge to help my business.

Come home, have a shower, 10 minutes every night on the books, a then relax with a few cold ones (oh sorry you guys don't know what that is..... I mean cold beer :8:)

It's quite surprising how easy the bookwork is when you get into the habit of doing them straight away. Alternatively, get the Mrs to do them :)
she'll know how much i earn then :yikes:

Every piece of paper goes in the file that day.
I taught myself excel off Youtube, and created an estimating spreadsheet that automatically creates an invoice, so as soon as the job is done the invoice is ready.
My accountant is going to have my books in his hands in April, first time ever. He'll have a heart attack.
