John,
I've mentioned this one before...from sometime mid/late 80's. I was doing handyman repairs on rentals and I went into the kitchen of the tenant and asked to use the phone to call the owner. They pointed to the phone on the wall and went into the living room and sat down on the couch. They called into the kitchen and offered me some ice tea. I leaned around the corner to say "no thanks" and I heard the unmistakable sounds of "professionals acting out a :love:love scene" on a video.:yikes:
The two tenants were sitting on the couch, husband with his arm around his wife, sitting calmly and drinking tea while the "movie" played on the Betamax (remember those? )
The TV was sitting on a hearth, and all around the hearth and on the mantle were statues, plates, pictures, trinkets and all sorts of memorabilia to both Elvis:elvis: and Jesus.
I don't know what the funniest thing was about this whole scene-how they sat there calmly smoking cigarettes and drinking tea while they watched this movie, or that they gave Elvis equal footing with Jesus in the fireplace shrine.
