I did a job a couple of weeks ago with 12mm porcelain tiles on a shower wall, and they were a bloody nightmare to cut, anyway the builder phoned me this afternoon and said we have a problem with theses tiles, oh my god i thought what have i done wrong....Turns out the plumber cant fit the shower screen as he cant drill the tiles, and the shower screen wont fit as the tiles are too thick by about 4mm, so i have to go back next week and cut 3 inches off on side so they can fit the screen...I knew these tiles would come back and haunt me :furious3: P.S im getting paid to go back as its not my probem

You should use our drills [365drills] to fit the shower screens. Dont remove work unless really necassary. It might be better to get another shower screen. Sometimes the frames have some play in them.

Porcelain tiles are not that difficult if you have the correct equipment.

Tell your plumber he needs a pack of our 8mm drills. Will whizz through the tiles. Even if you have to change the tiles.

Porcelain is very easy to drill if you use the 8mm drill pack

£29.99 for a pack of four

Good luck with the tiles. Hopefully you can work around the shower screen and wont have to remove the tiles

Hi 365
As i have now seen your drillbits in a few threads i'm intrigued, how good are they really, will they go through soft granite? as the rubi one's i have will, if they will i will buy a set .

And if they are really good i will get you a hell of a lot of buisness.
I used the drills on a granite floor a couple of weeks a go. Absolutely no problems. Easier than drilling full body porcelain in fact.

Hi yes the drills will work easily in granite. (which is soft compared to porcelain) Give em a go

Yes about this post i read it and it seems the issue is the width of the shower door due to the porcelain tiles being fitted.

I was hoping it would be easier to change the shower door than unpick tiles.

Perhaps not !
