Drill?

Hey guys, i'm in the market for a new drill. Any ideas for general purpose but also option to use for mixing. Cheers.

I wouldnt use a drill for mixing, get a proper mixer for adhesive and a drill for drilling.

Hitachi. For general purpose a 14.4V should be okay. That's what I use the most. Good size for extended use. !8V tend to be a bit heavier, 12V and below not powerful enough. You're best to get a kit with a spare battery.
18V normally gives you the option of 'hammer action' if you are doing a lot of masonry drilling.
A mixer, as said above is best for mixing. You'll just knacker your drill if you use it for mixing.

How is battery life with DeWalt?

I mean the lifetime of the battery, as opposed to how long between charges.
I've heard some bad reports over the years.

If youre doing large areas,get a proper mixer. A cordless drill for small amounts of mixing. Screwfix always have one type or another on offer,make sure you get one with min. of 2 batterys.

How is battery life with DeWalt?

I find them very good and they get some punishment too, though I do several batteries, so I've never really notice any problems.

get a proper mixer and a corded sds drill . a hammer drill just wont cut it , once you go sds you will never go back. iv got a dewalt 18 volt and find it pathetic to drill holes in masonry , takes for ever to drill.

To be honest, I've never come across a wall I've not been able to drill with my Hitachi 18V for normal holes.
I use my SDS with my 1m drills and oversize holes through walls.
I don't like using my SDS at the top of a ladder.

id love a cordless sds for small holes . if i was using 1mm bits id go up to sds max. using any tool up a ladder is a pain. a cordless sds woulnt be too bad
