Dull marks on edge of porcelain tiles

I'm having cream polished porcelain tiles laid throughout the downstairs of my house. The tiler has laid most of the kitchen floor today and I can notice dull marks on the edges of some of the tiles which I have tried wiping cleaning etc but to no avail. I'm now unsure about letting him lay the rest of the tiles tomorrow as I don't feel this hazy/dull marking is acceptable. Help I'm so stressed out and confused about how to proceed!

Sounds like grout haze. I would assume he will clean it off at the end of the job. Ask him about it tomorrow. I'm sure it will be fine.

He has only just laid the tiles they are not grouted yet and I have looked at some of the unlaid tiles and they have the same hazy mark on the edges!

Its hard to get a good photo because of the spotlights shining down but you can see the hazy line along the edge

More of a tile issue than a tilers fault issue?

Discuss it with the tiler tomorrow, see what he says

That's what I thought so I should be contacting the tile shop. Such a nightmare and strange that its only around the edges of the tiles. Should I be pushing for the tile shop to be footing the bill, so far only about 1/4 of the total tiles have been laid so I know we can return unopened tiles but what about the tiles laid today? Not to mention the tilers time etc.

How does it feel when you rub your finger across the tile and onto the dull patches ?

It has a different texture, on some of the tiles there is a white cement type substance along where these marks are and it does not budge despite cleaning. I think I would need to use something slightly abrasive to remove it (haven't attempted this yet)

Discuss it calmly with the tiler first IMO but do it before he starts laying more just in case it is a tile issue....

It has a rough texture compared to the rest of the tile which seems to have a greasy film on it. Would this transit wax only appear around the edges?

Try something like white spirit on a tile in a suitable area. If it moves it then it will be worth getting some transit wax remover from the tile shop.
