Bloke in topps told me today they have had a lot of fails with this has anybody had any problems

They had issues but have changed manufacturer now and its a different style. If its plain yellow then its the old stock , if its yellow with a green stitch then its new stuff, has a different pattern too called cloverleaf.

sure its the one with the green stitch he said the underside with the cloth stuff on has been lifting up and coming loose from the addy ! but i think might be due to a floor defect but then again he might be talking rubbish because he told me this after i told him i can get it £3 per m2 cheaper elswhere and when i asked him if they still stocked bal green screed he thought it was a slc and didn't know it worked as an adhesive

i have a roll of the old stuff then in the lock-up, will they exchange for the new stuff or is it a car-boot job!!

I threw 15m2 away a few months ago, not worth the risk IMO

I wouldn't pass an old roll onto someone else.. it could be a bad roll and then it could fail.. i would not wish that on another tiler etc..

I do know that Dural were exchanging rolls but not sure if they still are but worth a call to see if they will..

no fair point on reflection Dave, it was left -over from a big pool surround,so how do we stand with that and a guarantee !!

If it fails dave, then just call Dural and they send out their team of fixers to inject it... no one else is doing this as far as i know.

i'am just wondering how long the manufacturers have tested these systems before they come to the marked,there must be thousands/millions of meters of installations :yikes: and lots of different makers out there

It wasn't all mats ever sold, it was just a batch made at a certain time that had a sort of glue failure between polythylene and backing from what i understood... so to make sure it did not happen again Dural moved supplier/manufacturer.

yep, I had a failure with the old stuff, Gerard got his team onto it and sorted it. I asked if there was any need for me to be involved and he said "No, just leave it with us". I had pics of various stages of the install and offered him them as a back up to show that I wasn't pulling a fast one and he didn't want them. It's about a month since his team did the fix and so far no "crunching".

gerard at dural has just sent his team to fix my bathroom floor.they took ages and ages to finallly get here ,but im impressed by the team and i can confirm that i too have no crunching.gerard did say that if you bought your product from topps ,they dont normally fix the problem.a swift word in his ear ,lead to a swift dispatch of his team.

well after 2 months the floor hasnt moved and the resin has stayed put.so i guess the product has a good fix.just get your fixed with dural and dont let them get away with it.get it fixed.
