What do you use..?

Anyone using the carpet protector type off the roll..? or maybe just a plain old twill type of tiler..

Depends on the customer and how dirty I'm likely to get things.If its winter and the house has white carpets I'll use the carpet protector roll and just add to the cost (£25),spoke to my insurance about dust sheets and was told never have them on staircases in case people trip.

I use carpet protector, roll 'n' stroll I think it's called.

I had a few of those dust sheets from Lidl a while back. Very good for work surfaces and the plastic backing stops dust going all the way through.
For carpets and floor protection I use Twill sheets. Sometimes Corex for hard flooring.

This is one of cheapest i have come across for the plastic rolls and correx as well Neale.. just remembered i had it bookmarked..

I still use the stair runners but after Dave's post I know what I'll be using now...

I've always used dust sheets but starting a job on Monday where the carpets are almost white! Got 2 full bathrooms to do so have just purchased a roll of the self adhesive stuff so I can just leave it down until I've finished.

When I'm mixing outside I always put down a waterproof tarp. I was caught out a few years ago and it cost me. Some slabs stain so easily even if you wash them down straight away.

I've always used the twill type. I was installing a mosaic in a museum in Spain and they had a mock up of an Early Christian catacomb burial. They needed a shroud to wrap the dummy in and so they pinched one of my dust sheets and wrapped him in that as it looked the part!

Carpet protector rolls are geat if anything they clean the carpet, use the dust sheets with the backing & corex on big floors can be expensive tho.
