Sheffield Just Shook

Was very alarmed at 1am whilst in bed when the whole house shook absolutely scared me. We recently moved to a new house an i knew the builders had cut corners but that scared me. Just found out that there was a mini earth quare which lasted about a minute not 10secs like these boys at london state.

QUOTE FROM BBC NEWS 24

The tremor was felt at about 0100 GMT and lasted for nearly 10 seconds but it is unclear if it has caused any damage. The British Geological Survey said it believed the quake was of the magnitude of 5.1 and said the epicentre was close to Grimsby in north-east Lincolnshire.

Hope all you brothers and sisters are welland safe. Goodnite God Bless.

Hi All

Turned on the news channel this morning to find out an earth quake had took place. Epicentre in Wragby near Lincoln according to BBC1.
Tiled a mates floor yesterday lives 12 doors away he felt the quake as he left his shower.
I never felt a thing, must have died in my sleep and resurrected this morning. Epicentre 12 miles away.

OK Guys, we'll have to come clean now, we set this earthquake thing up with the help of Aliens from Mars, as a marketing ploy, we were hoping that everyone's tiles would fall of the wall, creating lots of work for you guys and of course 'CornerTape'. Its backfired a bit as the only damage caused, was to a few chimeny pots and has only generated work for the fire brigade,

Ah well back to the drawing board,:mad2:

I live about 40 miles from the epicentre so no wonder it was so strong for me.

Got a phone call from the plumber I worked with yesterday,I'd done a splashback that was all over the place so had to pack out a bit to get level,I decided to go back on Thursday to grout to give it more time to dry out.
Well the plumber said I don't know how to tell you this mate but half the tiles have fallen off the wall and smashed:whatchutalkingabout I kept saying your having a laugh but he was adament.
GOD DAMN:furious3: I'll come round right now and have a look!

He said don't bother I'm only having you on:lol:

I will hammer a few nails through his pipes next time I'm on one of his jobs:grin:

Where you from bigsmudge?
