ever done an insurance quote???

hi all,
just wondering how or if any of you have done a quote for insurance companies?
any one got one made up on spreadsheet to download etc???

The main phrase that I always incorporate into an insurance quote is...' To supply tiles of similar quality to the existing ' Always helps. Other than that just detail what you are going to do and what you are going to use....same as a normal quote really.

Not directly to the insurance company only thru the customer and they pay me and then get there monies with my invoice to the insurance company

Some insurance companies will issue a Mandate that gives the customer that will give the option for the customer to shop at specified tile stores such as Topps. In this instance there is a set fee for fitters, but it's normally a good rate and includes everything from ripping up to laying the tiles. But at this stage don't worry about it as the customer will more than likely have to submit 2 quotes.......do you know a fellow tiler that will provide a second quote? They can use this mandate to buy the goods and anything over and above the amount allocated is paid for by the customer. You may find that they will upgrade the quality and spend all the money on goods and pay you seperately for the labour and materials.

Yes, right. And this brings you to the question where to get tiles - if you have to take the ones that are in - that have run out !

I think this is a thread to start for the UK tilers where to get run-out tiles for covering insurance business.
