In a word.........."No"

I have thought about taking a young-en on more than once............but the thought of hanging over them watching/teaching..........only for them to collect all your experience.......and then naff off and set themselves up:furious3:

As for taking on experienced tilers..........you obviously have to have the work coming in, and to know that they can tile to your expectations..........iffy

NO.Never again.
Used to have 28 fixers many years ago.
Thats 28 people taking the odd bucket of adhesive for their own jobs, 28 people taking grout trims spacers rtc.
28 people with every excuse under the sun as to why they cant get to work today or why they havent finished or why the just had to go to the pub at lunch time.
NO never again, i am much better off working for myself and working alone. If something goes wrong then there is only me to blame.

My long term goal is to learn plastering to a good degree and also basic plumbing for bathroom fitting so I can offer the whole bathroom refurb business, and most probably my part P too at some point maybe.
Then take on an apprentice or two, teach him\her to tile and fit bathrooms and plastering so when things got very busy I could drop them off at one job while I did another, or just get the one job done very quickly.

Or a shorter term goal, get a partner who can plaster and fit bathrooms then that way everything could be split 50-50 in terms of van\advertising and risk etc etc.
