Expansion joints in exterior floor tiling ?

Could you tell me do I need Expansion joints in floor tiling outdoors?
I've not laid the concrete slab yet do I need to put expansion joints in that too?
Should I put a waterproof membrane on the slab before tiling?
The size of the patio is 6.5 x 2.4 m
